Meet the Naviga Team: Grace Odlum

Learn about Grace Odlum from our APAC team in our “Meet the Team” interview series

We’re excited to kick off our “Meet the Team” interview series, where we’ll share what our team members are doing to help media-rich industries across the globe.

Name

Grace Odlum

Job role

Sales Director, APAC

Where are you from originally?

I am originally from the Republic of Ireland, 60 miles southwest of Dublin, to be precise. I moved to Singapore 2 years ago.

Where are you located now?

I am located in the exciting Lion City of Singapore, sitting in our office overlooking Boat Quay.

What is most important to you outside of work?

Keeping fit by trying new HIIT and spinning workouts and trying all the different cafes in Singapore.

What does a typical day for you at Naviga look like?

In a typical day, I am researching both the scope and size of both Southeast Asia and wider APAC countries as a market of growing importance for Naviga and its subsidiaries.  I also reach out to potential end users in the media, sport and gaming space on behalf of RSG Media in order to attract more customers. I am also driving awareness of the Naviga brand in Southeast Asia.

What have you learnt about the media/publishing industry here in Asia Pacific?

It is often seen as one large market. However, each country is quite different and the market potential in each country is unique. The amount of money and time people spend on Media are both on the rise in Southeast Asia.

What is the most surprising thing you’ve learnt about the industry in Asia?

Having a simple and easy to explain business model is half the battle.

What can we expect to see in the media industry in the next 12-24 months?

We can expect to see an increase in money spent by consumers on Media, an increase in revenue coming from Virtual Merchandising and a higher demand from consumers of personalization of their media experience.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?

Asia is a market that holds opportunity but requires time to nurture and uncover the real opportunities.

Thank you for sharing, Grace!
