Name

Glenn Lai

What is your role at Naviga?

Sales Director @ Naviga APAC

Where are you from originally?

Singapore

Where are you located now?

Singapore

What does a typical day for you at Naviga look like?

I work on new partner opportunities in the Asia Region, mostly focused on South-East Asia as well as handling on-going conversations with potential partners that see a need for the Naviga offering and wish to expand their innovative solutions.

What is most important to you outside of work?

Spending time with family and friends!

What have you learnt about the media/publishing industry here in Asia Pacific?

The media/publishing industry in APAC has a various number of barriers to entry but we see a growing need for a platform like Naviga. People in APAC spend a vast majority of their time on social media regardless of the platform and the amount will only increase over the coming decade. People understand that content moves the needle.

What is the most surprising thing you have learnt about the industry in Asia?

Most of the big players do not have a platform as well-structured and thorough as Naviga, including the features and user interface.

What can we expect to see in the media industry in the next 12-24 months?

We can see a rise in the number of users and many companies intending to leverage the large human traffic to spread awareness of their product. Most companies that initially did not see a need for a platform like Naviga, are starting to realize that they should have jumped onboard when they had the chance.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

People that browse news mainly want to view content that appeals to them. The audience engagement feature is a perfect example to cater to that need. Being a massive user spread across various channels, I’d definitely feel happier if the content that I browse is curated to my tastes.

Thank you for sharing, Glenn!
